Goldman Sachs raised its price targeton TD Ameritrade (NASDAQ: AMTD) from $16 to $18 following investor meetings with the CFO and other management.
The firm said while the strain on EPS growth is well understood given low short-term rates, "there is a less-pronounced appreciation for potential EPS growth when NIM merely stops compressing."
AMTD's ability to leverage fee-based income sources could increase noticeably in 2014, with or without the Fed, the firm notes.
The firm is maintaining a Neutral rating on the stock.
