Barclays maintains an 'Equalweight' on Kroger (NYSE: KR) price target raised $2 to $24.00.

Barclays analyst says, "KR demonstrated once again why it is viewed as the best public supermarket chain, with a 3Q11 identical-store sales increase of 5.0% vs. Safeway at +1.5% and Supervalu at -1.8%. Inflation was very high this quarter at 6.0%, and this combined with the weak economy to make the environment very difficult. Consumers' food purchases were pressured and tonnage was flat after several years of increases...We think all the positives are priced into KR's stock, but recognize that its strictly domestic store base and limited downside may be attractive to some investors given
turbulence in the market."

"We are raising our 4Q11 EPS estimate by $0.02 to $0.49, which brings our FY11 estimate up by $0.05 to $2.00, the high end of the raised guidance of $1.95-$2.00. We are also raising our FY12 EPS estimate to $2.25 from $2.11."
