Power Integrations (Nasdaq: POWI) announced the passing of James R. Fiebiger, Ph.D., a member of the company’s board of directors since 2006. Dr. Fiebiger died on Saturday in Los Angeles.
Dr. Fiebiger spent more than four decades in the semiconductor industry, serving in a series of executive roles at such companies as United Technologies (NYSE: UTX), Motorola (NYSE: MMI), Texas Instruments (NYSE: TXN), GateField Corporation, Thunderbird Technologies and VLSI Technology. He founded Lovoltech, Inc., a privately held power-semiconductor company, serving as chairman and CEO from 1999 to 2004, and served on the boards of such companies as Mentor Graphics, QLogic Corporation, Pixelworks Inc. and Actel Corporation.
