American Equity Investment Life Holding (NYSE: AEL) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.12 per share, or $0.48 annualized. This is a 20% increase from the prior dividend of $0.10.

The dividend will be payable on December 16, 2011, to stockholders of record on December 2, 2011, with an ex-dividend date of November 30, 2011.

The annual yield on the dividend is 4.4 percent.
