Notable ETF Movers of the Day 11/18: (MOO) (FXE) (XLF) Higher; (UNG) (EWZ) (SMH) Lower

Gainers

  • Market Vectors Agribusiness ETF (NYSE: MOO) up 0.82 percent to $47.96. Ags getting a little boost as Lazard initiated coverage on several in the sector Friday. The move is being led by Mosaic (NYSE: MOS), which is up 4.4 percent.

  • CurrencyShares Euro Trust (NYSE: FXE) up 0.34 percent to $134.60. The euro is gaing some ground on chatter in Europe that the European Central Bank (ECB) might loan the International Montary Fund (IMF) money to aid in bailouts.

  • Financial Select Sector SPDR (NYSE: XLF) up 0.28 percent to $12.49. Financials are up modestly Friday, with the biggest advance coming at Citi (NYSE: C), which is up 1.4 percent, on ECB bond-buying talks.


Receders

  • United States Natural Gas (NYSE: UNG) down 1.78 percent to $7.74. Nat gas moving lower Friday, following reports of record stores on Thursday from the EIA, as a note from Barclays claimed that even with a winter 10 percent colder than normal, inventories will still be above the 10-year average at the end of the season. December nat gas contracts are $0.039 lower to $3.371 per mmBtu on the Comex.

  • iShares MSCI Brazil Index (NYSE: EWZ) down 0.51 percent to $58.89. Brazil stocks lower Friday from continued uncertainty in Europe. The market might move higher, as S&P upped Brazil's long-term sovereign rating to BBB, one notch move. The Bovespa is down about 0.5 percent Friday, on lighter volume.

  • Semiconductor HOLDRS (NYSE: SMH) down 0.97 percent to $30.51. Applied Materials (Nasdaq: AMAT0 is continuing lower, down about 2.6 percent following a 7.5 percent close yesterday, after repoting strong earnings but light guidance after the market closed on Wednesday. Further, research firm IHS (NYSE: IHS) iSuppli recently cut its outlook for 2011 chip growth from 2.9 percent to 1.2 percent, which may be adding pressure to the sector today. Semis might also be reeling on certain HDD issues, which might quell demand for PC sales overall.
