Barclays maintains an 'Equalweight' on Becton Dickinson (NYSE: BDX) price target of $79.00.
Barclays analyst says, "BDX's Analyst Day provided an in-depth look into a plethora of product investments, but provided no incremental financial guidance. Management did not address long-term sales guidance, and FY12 outlook remains unchanged. In line with Q4 comments, FY12 ex-FX sales guidance of 2-4% reflects a base business weighed down by price erosion (just above 100 bps) and uncertainties in utilization and research funding, especially in US/EU. Growth coming out of Europe, however, should incrementally improve yoy as one-time effects roll off (shift in purchasing patterns in Pharma Systems, exiting Greece) and areas like France and possibly UK see some stabilization in research funding levels. While US research spend is likely to be constrained, Asia is expected to lead the pack with double-digit growth in FY12."
