Barclays maintains an 'Underweight' on Barnes & Noble (NYSE: BKS) price target of $10.00.

Barclays analyst says, "New NOOK Tablet well-positioned to compete against Amazon's updated Kindle: The new NOOK Tablet enables Barnes & Noble to more effectively compete in the increasingly competitive tablet market. The device comes with an array of media-related programs and apps. Additionally, it features 16 GB of storage (vs. 8 GB for the Kindle Fire). Additionally, the new NOOK Tablet features 1 GB of RAM (vs. 512 MB of RAM in the Kindle Fire). To provide content, Barnes & Noble has partnered with several third-party media and software providers. The new NOOK Tablet will retail for $249 (vs. $199 for the Kindle Fire), which, while not ideal, should enable it to be somewhat competitive."
