Targacept, Inc. (Nasdaq: TRGT) 57.1% LOWER; getting slammed Tuesday morning following reports the first of four RENAISSANCE Phase 3 studies investigating the efficacy and tolerability of TC-5214 missed its primary endpoint.
Republic Airways Holding (Nasdaq: RJET) 56.9% HIGHER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.40, 12 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.28. Revenue for the quarter came in at $767.9 million versus the consensus estimate of $751.82 million.
Exide Technologies (Nasdaq: XIDE) 31.5% LOWER; reported Q2 GAAP loss of $0.05, which may not compare with the analyst EPS estimate of $0.11. Revenue for the quarter came in at $773 million versus the consensus estimate of $756.74 million.
McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants (Nasdaq: MSSR) 27.8% HIGHER; Tilman J. Fertitta announced today that Landry's has signed an Agreement to acquire 100 percent of MSSR for $8.75 a share.
Dynegy (NYSE: DYN) 25.4% HIGHER; confirming rumors from Monday afternoon (Dynegy shares plunged as much as 29 percent as headlines hit newswires), Dynegy announced it placed several units into bankruptcy last night. In addition, four divisions of Dynegy Holding Company petitioned to file for reorganization. Dynegy said it reached an agreement with debtholders of more than $1.4 billion in senior notes to restructure nearly $4 billion in debt.
Ligand Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: LGND) 21.0% LOWER; Ligand lower ahead of earnings. The pharma reported positive data from preclinical studies on its Interleukin-1 Receptor Associated Kinase-4 (IRAK4) program yesterday.
Solazyme (Nasdaq: SZYM) 20.8% HIGHER; reported Q3 loss of $0.19 per share, 3 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.22). Revenue for the quarter came in at $8.9 million versus the consensus estimate of $10.06 million.
Fuel Tech, Inc. (NASDAQ: FTEK) 20.6% HIGHER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.11, $0.07 better than the analyst estimate of $0.04. Revenue for the quarter came in at $24 million versus the consensus estimate of $22.89 million.
EnerNOC (Nasdaq: ENOC) 20.4% HIGHER; breaking above the 200-day moving average following earnings yesterday.
QuinStreet, Inc (Nasdaq: QNST) 18.3% LOWER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.24, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of $0.23. Revenue for the quarter came in at $101.2 million versus the consensus estimate of $107.12 million. The Company also announced a new five-year debt facility that increases its borrowing capacity to $300 million on attractive and improved terms.
