Shares of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE: BRK-A)(NYSE: BRK-B) are trading slightly lower Monday following its third-quarter earnings report which was issued late Friday.
Operating income for Berkshire increased from $2.787 billion during the same quarter last year to $3.812 billion.
Exclude one-time items and net income fell 23.8 percent from $2.989 billion in the year-ago quarter to $2.278 billion.
Since the beginning of this year, Berkshire reported its book value had increased by 1.5 percent to $96,876 per Class A equivalent share.
Berkshire Class A shares are about 1 percent lower Monday, while Class B shares are down 1.4 percent to $76.16.
