Goldman Sachs Recommending Buying Healthcare (XLV) Volatility Ahead of Super Committee

November 4, 2011 8:30 AM EDT
Option strategists at Goldman Sachs recommend buying healthcare volatility ahead of Super Committee negotiations.

"We believe the options market is underestimating the potential for volatility around the Joint Committee on Deficit Reduction (aka Super Committee) meetings leading up to the November 23 deadline, just as it did around the budget negotiations in July", the firm states.

The firm is recommending buying Jan Health Care Select Sector SPDR (NYSE: XLV) $32 puts for $0.88.
