Shares of LinkedIn (Nasdaq: LNKD) are in positive territory Thursday afternoon as the company is set to report third-quarter results before the market open Friday. The report will be the company's second since going public last May.
The Street is looking for LinkedIn to report a loss of 4 cents per share with revenue of $127.35 million. Last quarter, LinkedIn surprised with 10 cents per share of earnings, compared with the Street looking for a loss of 3 cents.
Shares fell about 13 percent through the quarter.
Data from Bloomberg has three analysts with a Buy rating on LinkedIn, nine at Hold, and two with a Sell-equivalent rating. The Street price target average is $89, with a low of $70 and high of $98.
JPMorgan is bullish on shares heading into the numbers. The firm is looking for earnings of 3 cents per share and revenue of $125.5 million. JPMorgan sees third-quarter worldwide unique users rising 64 percent and page views up 51 percent from the same period last year.
JPMorgan comments, "We believe the roll-out of new products and features such as Company Page followers and Company Status Updates should continue to help drive healthy user engagement growth. Additionally, we expect LinkedIn to continue to see strong mobile usage, aided by the new Apple iOS and Android apps which launched in August."
JPMorgan is modeling for EBITDA of $13.8 million, above guidance calling for $9 to $11 million. The firm believes there is still room for some EBITDA upside.
