UPDATE - Barclays upgraded Omnicare (NYSE: OCR) from Underweight to Equalweight. PT raised $2 to $34.
Barclays analyst says, "We are upgrading the shares of OCR given our increased level of visibility in Omnicare's earnings potential over the next few years. In addition, if Omnicare is able to get the FTC to approve its proposed combination with Pharmerica (NYSE: PMC), we believe there is considerable upside potential in the stock given our view that combining the two companies will produce $100-$150 million in synergies and boost Omnicare's earnings by 25%-35% over the next few years. The fact that OCR and PMC announced on October 26 that they will exchange some information to assess the regulatory hurdles of combining the two companies is a clear step in the right direction, in our view. Nonetheless, it is hard to know if a deal will get approved."
