Barclays reiterates an 'Overweight' on Western Union Co. (NYSE: WU) price target of $24.00.
Barclays analyst says, "We expect WU to report a resilient 3Q that should help reassure the market on economic risks. We tweaked our 2H11 transaction and revenue growth assumptions down modestly to account for a more stagnant U.S. and global economy than originally expected, but our full-year estimates remain at the higher end of guidance, which we consider much more conservatively set up into potentially slower economic trends relative to the prior recession. For 3Q, we see stable to modestly lower C2C remittance volume growth across corridors we track balanced by initiatives to accelerate growth (agent expansion in Europe and elsewhere adding new transactions; continued domestic strength; efforts to turn around the Mexico corridor) and expect margins to hold up in line with company expectations, helped by ongoing strength in the higher margin domestic business. For business payments, we see bill payment challenges continuing to be mitigated by company initiatives."
