Shares of Liz Claiborne (NYSE: LIZ) are now up about 22.5 percent Wednesday morning following news the company will sell its Liz Claiborne and Monet brands to JCPenney (NYSE: JCP) and its Kensie brand to Bluestar. The company expects total proceeds of about $308 million from the sale.
