Unusual 11 Mid-Day Movers 10/04: (TSPT) (MELA) (AMR) Higher; (RIC) (GTIV) (AMED) Lower

Transcept (Nasdaq: TSPT) 25.7% HIGHER; announces PDUFA date of November 27th for Intermezzo.

Richmont Mines (NYSE: RIC) 22.6% LOWER; National Bank downgraded Richmont Mines from Outperform to Sector Perform.

Gentiva Health Services (Nasdaq: GTIV) 21.7% LOWER; lower following a report from the Senate Finance Committee which suggests home care companies overbooked care. The stock was downgraded at Deutsche Bank this morning. The firm also removed the stock from its Short-Term Buy list.

MELA Sciences (Nasdaq: MELA) 21% HIGHER; shares made a sharp move above the $5 level today following a more than 4 percent gain yesterday. Volume is very heady today.

Amedisys (Nasdaq: AMED) 21.0% LOWER; see Gentiva. Stock was downgraded at Deutsche Bank this morning.

AMR Corp. (NYSE: AMR) 16.6% HIGHER; shares bouncing today following a 33 percent decline Monday amid bankruptcy fears. The stock was down about 11 percent last week. The stock was upgraded at Rodman & Renshaw and Avondale.

Focus Media Holding (Nasdaq: FMCN) 16.2% HIGHER; JJ Media and Jason Nanchun Jiang entered into further amendments to Options Agreements. Both the entities own about 14.88 percent of Focus Media.

Suntech (NYSE: STP) 15.3% HIGHER; correcting today following a very late 15 percent surge just minutes before the close yesterday.

China New Borun (Nasdaq: BORN) 13% HIGHER; traders are buying the dip today following a 30 percent move lower over the last four trading sessions.

Great Panther Silver (AMEX: GPL) 11.6% LOWER; lower as silver is down 2.3 percent on the session.

InterOil (NYSE: IOC) 11.6% LOWER; holding below a support level around $40 today. Shares getting crushed with the crude oil sector. The stock fell nearly 20 percent yesterday.
