Notable 52-Week Highs and Lows of the Day 09/26: (ALXN) (CERN) High; (MOS) (IVN) (RXII) Low

This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:
  • Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALXN) high of $68.46. Alexion carried some momentum over from Friday, after it raised its fiscal 2011 outlook. Sales moved from $745 to $755 million to a range of $760 to $768 million. Non-GAAP EPS expected to be $1.15 to $1.20, up from a prior range of $1.10 to $1.15, and compared to the analyst consensus of $1.16.

  • Cerner Corporation (Nasdaq: CERN) high of $71.35. Cerner moving higher following a report from J.P. Morgan highlighting several stocks that might rebound now similar to what they did after the collapse of Lehman. Cerner was on the list, and many of the stocks mentioned are in positive territory Monday. The list contained many stocks that had high P/E and P/B values, with growth potential.
52-Week Low:
  • The Mosaic Company (NYSE: MOS) low of $54.50. Mosaic reported pricing an 18 million secondary offering at $57.65 per share. According to the release: "he secondary offering is comprised of 18 million shares owned by the Margaret A. Cargill trusts. In addition, the underwriters have been granted a 30-day option to purchase up to 2.7 million additional shares from the selling stockholders to cover over-allotments, if any."

  • Ivanhoe Mines (NYSE: IVN) low of $12.90. Ivanhoe Mines said in a statement today that the investment agreement for the Oyu Tolgoi Project remains a fair and legally binding contract that deserves and requires the unqualified support of all parties.

  • RXi Pharmaceuticals Corporation (Nasdaq: RXII) low of $0.72. RXi Pharma is planning to split into two separately-traded public companies: Galena Biopharma will focus on the development of targeted cancer therapies; and RXi Pharmaceuticals will focus on the development of RNAi-based therapeutics.

  • Express Scripts Inc. (Nasdaq: ESRX) low of $37.80. Express Scripts hitting a new 52-week low ahead of Walgreen earnings Tuesday morning. Express Scripts and Walgreen still have yet to come to a network deal, and Walgreen earnings and conference call may shed a little more light on developments.
