Barclays maintains an 'Overweight' on General Mills (NYSE: GIS) price target raised from $40 to $43.

Barclays analyst says, "We certainly understand and appreciate the difficult operating environment facing the Packaged Food group these days, a theme that was repeated seemingly endlessly at our recent Back to School conference. And, perhaps this is just our glass half full attitude showing through, but we took note of a few more positive incremental datapoints from the GIS fiscal 1Q12 conference call -- which could have implications for the food group as a whole and are the first positive indications we've heard in several quarters."

"So, this is admittedly a forward looking thought process for us, and the group still trades as a healthy premium to the market as a whole, but perhaps we are starting to see some Green (though not Giant) shoots for the group emerging. We'll stay tuned."
