TranS1 Inc. (Nasdaq: TSON) 20% LOWER; today announced that it has priced its public offering of 6,200,000 shares of its common stock at a price to the public of $3.25 per share. TranS1 has granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to 930,000 additional shares of common stock to cover over-allotments, if any. The gross proceeds to TranS1 from the sale of shares, before expenses and any over-allotment exercise, are expected to be $20,150,000.
Pacific Biosciences (Nasdaq: PACB) 18.7% LOWER; last night announced it cut about 130 jobs from its workforce yesterday, or about 28 percent of the total headcount. The company sees a $5.2 million charge related to the layoffs during the third quarter. The stock was downgraded at Piper Jaffray and JPMorgan.
JA Solar (Nasdaq: JASO) 15.5% HIGHER; reversing a late day decline yesterday; the stock closed down about 9 percent. JA Solar shares are down a whopping 41 percent this month alone.

Allos Therapeutics (Nasdaq: ALTH) 14.5% HIGHER; in a Form 8-K filing, the company disclosed Allos Company A boosted an offer for the company from $2 to $2.20 per share, broken up into $1.50 in cash and $0.70 in shares.
Coffee Holding Co. (Nasdaq: JVA) 12.6% LOWER; shares have not closed higher since the stock price pushed under the 200-day smooth moving average last week. The stock is down by about 30 percent since Sept. 14th.
Silicon Image (NASDAQ: SIMG) 11.9% HIGHER; shares are spiking sharply in afternoon trade as an analyst at Craig-Hallum initiated coverage on the stock with a Buy rating and a $9 price target.
