Notable 52-Week Highs and Lows of the Day 09/19: (AAPL) (RRC) (MAKO) High; (VALV) (JKS) (HEV) Low

This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:
  • Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) high of $411.50. Apple hit it's new all-time high Monday, as investors have shirked broader market movements and continued to buy the U.S. Though nothing new was introduced, JP Morgan issued a bullish note Monday about the iPhone 5 and its imminent release sometime before the end of 2011. Volume today is already above the three-month trailing daily average.

  • Range Resources Corporation (NYSE: RRC) high of $70.45. Range Resources moved into positive territory and a new high following reports it has been approached by non-U.S. suitors in a possible takeover bid. Shares were up as much as 11 percent at one point today.

  • MAKO Surgical Corp. (Nasdaq: MAKO) high of $40.78. MAKO reports it's RIO Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System is commercially available for use in total hip replacement procedures, called MAKOplasty Total Hip Arthroplasty. Shares up 12.4 percent today.

  • Amazon.com Inc. (Nasdaq: AMZN) high of $241.62. Amazon may be popping a little today on Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX) news. Amazon offers a competing streaming service to its Amazon Prime members, though its streaming library is not quite as substantial.

  • Stamps.com Inc. (Nasdaq: STMP) high of $25.24. Stamps moving to a new high as one analyst from Craig-Hallum sees it as a viable alternative for small- and medium-sized businesses as the U.S. Post Office consolidates to conserve cash.
52-Week Low:
  • Shengkai Innovations, Inc. (Nasdaq: VALV) low of $1.04. Last Friday, Shengkai announced that it will be implementing a strategic transition away from the low-end markets including the electric power markets, to the high-end oil and chemical markets, both domestically and abroad, in response to recent business disruptions and changes in the global ceramic valves industry. Shares were down as much as 47 percent Monday.

  • JinkoSolar (NYSE: JKS) low of $6.71. JinkoSolar is lower today following reports that a plant located in Hongxiao, Haining city in eastern Zhejiang province, China is fouling local air and water. Complaints include waste-water killing large amounts of fish, and toxic smokestack emissions. JinkoSolar was downgraded at Goldman, Collins Stewart, Credit Suisse, William Blair, and Roth Capital Monday morning.

  • Ener1, Inc. (Nasdaq: HEV) low of $0.20. Ener1 disclosed last Friday it borrowed about $11.24 million of its new $15 million line of credit. Ener1 moved 31 percent lower Monday on the report.

  • Yingli Green Energy (NYSE: YGE) low of $3.37. Yingli reports Chi Ping Martin Lau has resigned from the Company's board of directors and the audit and compensation committees in order to focus his time on his duties as President of Tencent Holdings Limited. His resignation from the Company was effective September 19, 2011. Yingli shares moved 12 percent lower Monday to its new mark.
