Jefferies initiates coverage on Xcel Energy (NYSE: XEL) with a Buy. PT $27.50.
The firm comments, "In search of new star talent we are initiating on Xcel Energy with a Buy rating and a price target of $27.50. Trading at a 2% P/E discount to our 2013 regulated peer group, Xcel has less regulatory exposure benefiting from forward test years, interim rate adjustments and rate tracker recovery mechanisms. Additionally, Jefferies is projecting above average 5-year compound average EPS growth of 5.9% through 2015."
