Dell (DELL) Authorizes Fresh $5B for Buybacks, Shares Tick Higher

Dell (Nasdaq: DELL) has authorized an additional $5 billion for common stock buybacks. Dell currently has from $2.16 billion left on its current authorization.

The action was taken in the company’s recent Board of Directors meeting.

Dell previously reported the repurchase of $1.1 billion in shares in the second quarter, which it ended with a record high $16.2 billion in cash and investments.

Shares of Dell are up 2.5 percent after-hours Tuesday on the news.
