Canaccord Genuity initiates coverage on Zalicus (NASDAQ: ZLCS) with a Buy. PT $3.00.
Canaccord analyst, Ritu Baral, said, "Synavive is Zalicus’ Phase 2 drug for RA. We think Synavive has significant market potential in various conditions where low-dose chronic steroids are used. We think the drug may be equally efficacious but significantly safer than steroids and more cost-effective than biologics. We also think Zalicus has a very promising platform of ion channel modulators for chronic pain, including Phase 1b-ready Z160, a novel calcium channel blocker."
