Shares of Research In Motion (Nasdaq: RIMM) are continuing lower Tuesday morning despite comments from large shareholder Jaguar Financial which suggest the BlackBerry maker should explore all strategic alternatives.

Over the weekend, Jaguar urged RIM directors to consider and carry out a so-called value maximization process. Jaguar believes the strategic alternatives should include a possible sale of the entire company, or a monetization of its patent portfolio.

The fund cites recent stock underperformance, a lack of innovation, issues among top executives and recent consolidation in the mobile sector.

Just ahead of Tuesday's opening bell, shares of Research In Motion are down 2.1 percent to around $29.49.
