This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:
  • Bristol-Myers Squibb Company (NYSE: BMY) high of $29.92. After dipping a little yesterday, Bristol-Myers is trading strong again into its new 52-week high. Monday, Bristol and Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) released encouraging results from the Phase 3 clinical trial ARISTOTLE, which evaluated ELIQUIS (apixaban) compared to warfarin for the prevention of stroke or systemic embolism in 18,201 patients with atrial fibrillation and at least one risk factor for stroke. With the broader market, shares moved 2.7 percent to the new mark.

  • The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE: KO) high of $70.75. Coca-Cola is up about 1 percent today, continuing a strong move from the middle of August. The stock is up 11.2 percent from recent lows on August 9th, on hopes that more quantitative easing might be in store, causing more Coca-Cola brand products to fly off the shelf.

  • Companhia de Bebidas Das Americas (AMBEV) (NYSE: ABV) high of $35.37. Though it makes some great beer, AMBEV is also the sole distributor of Pepsi (NYSE: PEP) products in Brazil. Beverage companies have been making some strong moves lately, possibly as investors gear up for stronger earnings after an unusually warm and dry summer, though that is pure speculation.
52-Week Low:
  • OMNOVA Solutions Inc. (NYSE: OMN) low of $4.14. OMNOVA is down 15.5 percent as it now expects adjusted diluted earnings per share for the fiscal year ending November 30, 2011 to be between $0.40 and $0.44, as compared to its prior estimate of approximately $0.60 provided during its second quarter earnings call in June. • CardioNet, Inc. (Nasdaq: BEAT) low of $3.01. CardioNet disclosed in a Form 8-K it has received a civil investigation demand from the Department of Justice. CardioNet has said the allegations are related to claims the company used inappropriate diagnosis codes when submitting Medicare claims. Shares moved just over 20 percent to the new low today.

  • CPI Corp. (NYSE: CPY) low of $8.08. CPI Corp. reported a second-quarter loss of 75 cents per share on revenue of $70.86 million. The Street was looking for a more modest loss of 48 cents per share.
