- Richmont Mines Inc. (AMEX: RIC) high of . Richmont reported the following additional results from its extensive drilling program on its Wasamac property. Some key findings: New 2011 drill results include: 7.28 g/t Au over 31.40 meters in the Main Zone, 3.14 g/t Au over 9.99 meters and 3.45 g/t Au over 7.66 meters in Zone 1, 2.17 g/t Au over 32.88 meters in Zone 2, and 4.52 g/t Au over 12.17 meters in Zone 3 (true width); Richmont has five drills currently active in the area; Over 34,000 meters of drilling completed to date; 2011 exploration program extended to 45,000 meters from 35,000 meters previously; Updated resource calculation for Wasamac is expected in Q4 2011, and will be used to complete a preliminary economic assessment of the project in Q1 2012.
- New Gold, Inc. (NYSE: NGD) high of $13.78. New Gold is making some strong moves again today as gold is over 2.5 percent higher on the Comex.
- Dollar General Corp. (NYSE: DG) high of $36.13. Dollar General moved nearly 7 percent on the session after reporting second quarter earnings of 52 cents per share on revenue of $3.58 billion, beating views calling for earnings of 48 cents per share and revenue of $3.54 billion. Looking ahead, Dollar General sees fiscal 2011 sales increasing 12 to 14 percent, to a range of $14.613 billion to $14.862 billion. The Street is currently looking for sales of $14.61 billion. Earnings are expected to grow 18 to 22 percent on an adjusted basis, for a range of $2.22 to $2.30. Dollar General's fiscal outlook is up from prior guidance calling for revenue growth of 11 to 13 percent and earnings of $2.20 to $2.30 per share.
- CNinsure Inc. (Nasdaq: CISG) low of $10.38. Cninsure is 10.6 percent lower on the session after reporting second-quarter earnings of 33 cents on revenue of 62 million, versus the consensus EPS of 29 cents and revenue of $60.67 million. CNinsure also made the following statement with respect to its outlook: "Going forward, the Company will offer quarterly guidance for total net revenues instead of net income attributable to the Company's shareholders in view of the increased uncertainty in its net income due to inflationary concerns, strategic spending on e-commerce insurance business and professional fees related to the non-binding going-private proposal that the Board received on May 14, 2011."
