August 25, 2011 5:38 PM EDT
Shares of Clearwire (Nasdaq: CLWR) are getting smashed after hours Thursday following reports it may be in restructuring talks.

According to headlines from Bloomberg, Clearwire may have tapped Blackstone (NYSE: BX) as an advisor in the restructuring.

One of the options Clearwire is considering, according to sources, is debt restructuring.

Earlier in August, word spread that Sprint (NYSE: S) and Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) may be part of a group aimed at making an investment in Clearwire, potentially leading to a takeover of the company. Clearwire currently is building out a 4G LTE network which Sprint uses.

Shares of Clearwire are down more than 28 percent late Thursday.
