Hanwha SolarOne Co., Ltd. (HSOL) Posts Surprise Q2 Loss; Sees FY11 Shipments at Lower-End of Outlook

Hanwha SolarOne Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ: HSOL) reported Q2 EPS of ($0.12), $0.24 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.12. Revenue for the quarter came in at $277.1 million versus the consensus estimate of $272.69 million.
PV module shipments, including module processing services, reached 205.9 MW, a decrease of 17.1% from 248.5 MW in 1Q11 and relatively flat compared with 2Q10.
For fiscal 2011, Hanwha sees module shipments to be at the lower end of the previously announced range of 1GW to 1.2GW, of which about 20 to 25% will be for PV module processing services.
