Clearwire (Nasdaq: CLWR) 30.5% HIGHER; Sprint (NYSE: S) is trading slightly higher early Friday, following reports it may seek a buyout of partner Clearwire through outside investment in its own company.
Silicon Graphics (Nasdaq: SGI) 29.5% HIGHER; reported Q4 EPS of $0.12, 15 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.03). Revenue for the quarter came in at $189.8 million versus the consensus estimate of $160.76 million. Sees FY12 EPS of $0.60 - $0.80, versus the consensus of $0.83. Silicon Graphics sees FY12 revenue of $740 - $780 million, versus the consensus of $721.7 million.
New York & Co., Inc. (NYSE: NWY) 20.2% LOWER; reported Q2 loss of ($0.15), in-line with the analyst estimate of ($0.15). Revenue for the quarter came in at $228.6 million versus the consensus estimate of $236.84 million.
Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ) 19.6% LOWER; on its call last night, removed its $7 guidance for 2014 and also will be reviewing any webOS potential impairment. The company is looking for cash flow from operations of $12 billion and free cash flow of $8 billion this year. CEO Leo Apotheker said he doesn't expect the weakness in the public sector to improve. Just general bad news all around for HP.
LDK Solar (NYSE: LDK) 16.9% LOWER; cuts Q2 sales guidance from $710 million - $760 million to $480million - $500 million, versus the consensus of $714 million. Shipments lowered from 200 - 220-MW to 75 - 80-MW. Fiscal 2011 sales guidance moves from $3.5 billion - $3.7 billion to $2.5 billion - $2.7 billion and module shipments to 750 to 800-MW. The stock was downgraded at Piper Jaffray and ThinkEquity.
Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS) 16.1% LOWER; Liberty Media (Nasdaq: LINTA) has invested about $204 million in Barnes & Noble through the purchase of newly issued convertible preferred stock. Click here for more color.
Aeropostale, Inc. (NYSE: ARO) 14.4% LOWER; reported Q2 EPS of ($0.02), 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of ($0.03). Revenue for the quarter came in at $468.2 million versus the consensus estimate of $490.86 million. Aeropostale sees Q311 EPS of $0.09 to $0.15, versus the consensus of $0.29.
ANN, Inc. (NYSE: ANN) 13.8% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.47, 2 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.45. Revenue for the quarter came in at $558.2 million versus the consensus estimate of $550.22 million. Comps up 8.6 percent. Sees Q3 sales of about $565 million, which compares to the Street estimate of $560.5 million. Sees FY11 sales approaching $2.225 billion, which compares to the Street estimate of $2.21 billion.
Aeroflex Holding Corp. (NYSE: ARX) 13.5% HIGHER; rebounding from yesterday following its fourth-quarter earnings report. The numbers were okay overall, though first-quarter 2012 came in below views. Shares closed 22.3 percent lower yesterday.
The Wet Seal, Inc. (Nasdaq: WTSLA) 11.3% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.02, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.02. Revenue for the quarter came in at $148.8 million versus the consensus estimate of $146.92 million. Sees Q311 EPS of $0.05 - $0.06, versus the consensus of $0.04. Sees Q311 revenue of $159 - $161 million, versus the consensus of $161.2 million.
Mentor Graphics Corp (Nasdaq: MENT) 10.7% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.11, 6 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.05. Revenue for the quarter came in at $213.7 million versus the consensus estimate of $209.97 million. Sees Q311 EPS of $0.21, versus the consensus of $0.19.
