UBS maintains a 'Neutral' on Southern Co. (NYSE: SO) price target raised by $1 to $41.
UBS analyst says, "SO finally acknowledged that the issuance of a combined operating license (COL) by the NRC for its new nuclear units is likely to slip into 2012. Despite this, the NRC should be in a position to issue a second limited work authorization (LWAB) that would allow continued work around the nuclear island. As such, there should be no material delays in meeting its targeted April 2016 start date for the first of the two new reactors. The NRC is expected to issue its revised schedule for the timing of the design certification and COL issuance by the end of the month...Following the stronger-than-expected results, we have tweaked our 2011E to $2.54, up from $2.48."
