UPDATE - Auriga initiates coverage on Health Management Associates (NYSE: HMA) with a Buy rating. PT $13.
Auriga analyst said, "We believe HMA’s investments in the latest medical surgical systems should continue to expand the company’s surgical market share. Combined with recent acquisitions (the pending close of Mercy Health Partners and HMA’s capacity to do additional transactions) could drive earnings above current consensus estimates in 2012 and beyond – all without requiring an increased level of economic activity. As such, we have a high degree of confidence in our above consensus 2012 estimates."
