Dahlman Rose initiates coverage on CARBO Ceramics Inc. (NYSE: CRR) with a Buy. PT $215.
Dahlman analyst says, "Horizontal drilling, which is enabling a transformation towards oil, liquids, and gas shale production is promoting multi-stage fracture jobs. These horizontal fracture jobs require numerous times more proppant per well than traditional vertical wells, since there are more places in the reservoir to fracture. We believe the structural increase in demand for proppant should keep Carbo's rapidly growing production sold out."
