Canaccord Genuity assumes coverage on Vertex (NASDAQ: VRTX) with a Hold. PT $48.
Canaccord analyst, Dr. George Farmer, says, "Supported by early script data trends and a clinical benefit profile providing higher HCV cure rates with shorter treatment duration than previous standard-of-care, we see high expectations for a successful INCIVEK (telaprevir) launch already reflected in VRTX shares. An overwhelmingly large patient target population drives our 2011 and 2012 U.S. sales estimates of $601M and $2.0B, feeding our total revenue estimates of $754M and $2.3B vs. consensus of $724M and $2.2B."
