Initial “Transformer” Box Office Results a Positive for Hasbro (HAS) - Goldman Sachs

Goldman Sachs reiterated their Conviction Buy List rating on Hasbro (NASDAQ: HAS) after Tranformers international box office provided an upside surprise this weekend.

Goldman notes that the initial global box office for Transformers came in ahead of of expectations at about $400 million. U.S. ticket sales was $181 million, with international sales well ahead at $218 million.

The firm said these initial results are bullish for Hasbro. "The more people see the movie, the more likely they are to buy Transformers themed toys, thus potentially fueling outsized earnings for HAS," the firm said.

Shares of Hasbro closed at $43.93 yesterday.
