Goldman Sachs resumes coverage on Southern Copper (NYSE: SCCO) with a Neutral rating and $36 price target.

The firm said their bullish view of the copper price cycle and discounted valuation to
historical multiples are offset by short-term overhangs.

Goldman said the main overhangs are: "(1) uncertainties regarding the proposal to merge Asarco and SCCO within AMC, the holding company that controls both mining companies, (2) the regulatory framework for the mining sector in Peru, and (3) execution of the Tia Maria project."
