Notable 52-Week Highs and Lows of the Day 06/14: (SWI) (ZAGG) (ORS) High; (CSCO) (PURE) (CHBT) Low

This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:
  • SolarWinds (NYSE: SWI) high of $26.42. SolarWinds breaking above the $24.75 resistance level today, making an 8 percent jump to a new 52-week high. Bullish comments came from FBR Capital today after meeting with the Company's CFO and IR Director last week, saying that the duo "remains very positive on its greenfield market opportunity as the company is finding success on the heels of a number of organic and acquisitive (Tek-Tools, Hyper9) growth initiatives."

  • ZAGG Incorporated (Nasdaq: ZAGG) high of $13.05. ZAGG is making another characteristic run today, this time to an all-time high. Since the middle of March, ZAGG would run a little, with a little bit of pullback added. No specific news on ZAGG is out today, though the stock has seen positive movement since announcing that it was awarded a protective screen covering patent on June 8th.

  • Orsus Xelent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: ORS) high of $7.29. Continuing higher. The communications equipment maker still running, up an additional 32.5 percent since yesterday. Investors might want to toss some caution to the wind, as Reuters reports "The reason behind the move was not clear and the company could not be contacted for comment; the phone number for Orsus' New York office was not in working order. Orsus' website lists Focus Asia Partners as its investor relations firm, a claim that is no longer accurate."
52-Week Low:
  • Cisco Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) low of $14.92. Cisco is lower today is RBC Capital lowered its rating from Outperform to Underperform, cutting its price target from $22 to $14.

  • Pure Bioscience (Nasdaq: PURE) low of $0.88. Pure reported a third-quarter loss of 5 cents per share on revs of $128.4 thousand. Last year, in the same period, Pure had a loss of 5 cents per share on revs of $536.5 thousand.

  • China-Biotics, Inc. (Nasdaq: CHBT) low of $3.45. Reports have certain Chinese food stocks caught up in scandals. China Biotics is a supplier of of probiotics, which "are beneficial, live bacteria used as dietary supplements and food additives." There is very little detail about any scandal, but China also increased its reserve requirement ratio again this year.
