Notable ETF Movers of the Day 06/09: (MOO) (RSX) (USO) Higher; (UNG) (IYR) (VXX) Lower

  • Market Vectors Agribusiness ETF (NYSE: MOO) up 2.07 percent to $53.28. Agribusiness stocks are getting it Agri-done today, following a USDA WASDE report showing lower-than-expected 2011/2012 corn ending stocks. Leading the charge is Mosaic (NYSE: MOS), up about 4.2 percent on the session.

  • Market Vectors Russia ETF (NYSE: RSX) up 2.26 percent to $39.40. Russian stocks seeing continued gains today as crude pushes higher, bolstering two of Russia's largest energy companies: OAO Rosneft and OAO Gazprom. Russia's Micex closed 1.7 percent better.

  • United States Oil (NYSE: USO) up 0.98 percent to $40.24. Crude is pushing higher again today, following OPEC's indecision yesterday. The Saudi Oil Minister Ali al-Naimi said "It was one of the worst meetings we've ever had." WTI July contracts up $1.39 to $102.13 on the Comex today.

  • United States Natural Gas (NYSE: UNG) down 1.14 percent to $12.18. Natural gas futures slipped following EIA data today. Stockpiles increased 80 billion cubic feet, more than the 74 to 78 bcf expected. Nat gas July contracts are $0.053 lower to $4.794 on the Comex.

  • iShares Dow Jones US Real Estate (NYSE: IYR) down 1.17 percent to $59.76. The real estate ETF is falling off a bit, led by Vornado Realty Trust (NYSE: VNO) which reported that it renewed and increased its revolving credit facility. The facility was increased from $1 to $1.25 billion. Notably, Vornado was approached by Archstone in a potential asset sale. VNO shares are down 1.4 percent mid-day.

  • iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures ETN (NYSE: VXX) down 2.72 percent to $22.21. The CBOE VIX near-term index is trading 6.3 percent lower today on mixed jobs data. Initial claims of 427K were more than 423K expected, while continuing claims of 3676K were better than the consensus of 3688K. The U.S. trade balance narrowed to ($43.7) billion, compared to expectations of ($48.7) billion.
