FBR Capital on Metals & Mining: Potential Met Coal Supply Disruption With BMA Strike Vote Affirmed

FBR analyst said, "While the commodity markets waffle with China slowdown and other global economic issues, met coal prices may catch another supply break with the affirmed strike vote by the workers at the large BMA met coal operations in Australia. Further, part of US met coal operations at CLF appear to be down for longer than expected from the tornado strike and its Pinnacle mine having another mine event. Although the strike news has been circulating for the past week, we still expect the met coal players to trade relatively well off this news: Walter Energy (NYSE: WLT), Alpha Natural (NYSE: ANR), Peabody (NYSE: BTU), CONSOL (NYSE: CNX), Patriot Coal (NYSE: PCX), and Natural Resource Partners (NYSE: NRP)."
