FBR Capital maintains an 'Outperform' on Cerner (NASDAQ: CERN).
FBR analyst said, "We are introducing CERN as our new Top Pick as we view the current operating environment as favorable for the company and its prospects as bright for continued growth through both organic and inorganic means."
"While investors could certainly look at other companies like McKesson (NYSE: MCK), UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) or even General Electric (NYSE: GE) to make a bet on the emerging trends in the healthcare IT market, CERN shares remain the only way for large cap investors to play the space without taking on exposure to other lines of business. At some point we could see Allscripts (Nasdaq: MDRX) grow large enough to be competition or a spin-off of a larger company’s healthcare IT division, but as of now, CERN does not have major competition for those investment dollars."
