Piper Jaffray's Peter Appert upgraded two stocks in the Education group Wednesday morning:

• Bridgepoint Education (NYSE: BPI) from Neutral to Overweight, price target raised from $22 to $31
  
• Career Education Corp. (Nasdaq: CECO) from Underperform to Neutral, price target raised from $20 to $25

Shares of Bridgepoint are up about 2.6 percent in pre-market action; the stock last traded at $21 even, suggesting upside of about 48 percent to Piper Jaffray's new price target.
