Brian Blair, an analyst at Wedge Partners, issued a research note earlier suggesting Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) is looking to launch a new 10” media-centric Android tablet by the next holiday season.
Blair believes the new tablet would be centered around AMZN’s media services and content. He notes this will be a direct competitor with Apple’s (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPad and iTunes as the company already has the content and availability to launch at that scale along with an already established credit-card base.
Blair sees Amazon’s new tablet using NVIDIA's (Nasdaq: NVDA) highly-anticipated Kal-El quad core chipset, which NVIDIA announced would hit consumer shelves by the end of 2011.
