DA Davidson reiterates a 'Buy' on Mentor Graphics (NASDAQ: MENT), PT $20.
DA analyst says, "Today (5/12) we attended Mentor’s annual shareholders meeting as Board nominations were decided. As expected, three of Carl Icahn’s nominees were elected to the Board and will be replacing the three longest tenured Board members."
"Expect the company’s recent progress to continue. Although management appeared to be disappointed, we view the additions of the newly elected Board members as a net positive for shareholders. Despite the new additions to the Board, we still view the potential sale of the company as unlikely. However, we believe this change should result in continued pressure on management to contain costs over the next few quarters that could ultimately drive further earnings upside."
