Notable 52-Week Highs and Lows of the Day 05/13: (DF) (A) (DDS) High; (RMBS) (ESLR) (HEV) Low

This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:
  • Dean Foods Co. (NYSE: DF) high of $13.73. Dean Foods is making a strong move today as Goldman Sachs upgraded shares from Neutral to Buy with a $19 price target. The stock moved 11.8 percent to the new 52-week high today. Dean Foods popped on Tuesday, following a strong first quarter earnings report.

  • Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) high of $55.33. Though relatively flat lately, Agilent is attracting investor attention following stronger than expected second quarter results and guidance. Agilent had EPS of $0.74 on revs of $1.68 billion, toppping estimates calling for EPS of $0.65 and revs of $1.6 billion. Looking ahead, Agilent sees third-quarter EPS of $0.71 and revs of $1.64 - $1.66 billion, both ahead of consensus EPS of $0.66 and revs of $1.59 billion. Additionally, Agilent boosted its FY11 outlook, with EPS increased from about $2.58 to $2.84 - $2.88 and revs from $6.35 billion to $6.55 - $6.60 billion. Consensus is currently looking for EPS of $2.64 and revs of $6.42 billion.

  • Dillard's Inc. (NYSE: DDS) high of $56.76. Dillard's reported first-quarter EPS of $1.31 on revs of $1.5 billion, compared with consensus EPS of $0.91 and revs of $1.47 billion. Shares moved nearly 17 percent higher to the mark today.

  • GameStop Corp. (NYSE: GME) high of 27.69. Research from NPD has U.S. video game sales up 24 percent in April, a boon for Gamestop and video game manufacturers. Behind the jump was a 26 percent increase in software sales, 12 percent in hardware, and 20 percent in accessories.
52-Week Low:
  • Rambus Inc. (Nasdaq: RMBS) low of . From our Mid-Day Movers report: "Hynix appeal of Rambus case affirmed-in-part, vacated-in-part. Court raises question on whether Rambus deserved penalty. Rambus wins a rehearing on its Micron (NYSE: MU) case. Also, an appeals court has agreed that Rambus spoliated documents. The stock was halted six times following this news!"

  • Evergreen Solar, Inc. (Nasdaq: ESLR) low of $1.00. Evergreen Solar slumping as it reported a first-quarter loss of $0.93 on revs of $35.31 million, compared with the consensus loss of $0.55 and revs of $52.17 million. Nortably, during the same quarter last year, Evergreen reported a loss of 70 cents per share on sales of $78.47 million. Shares down 29 percent on the day.

  • Ener1 (NYSE: HEV) low of $1.42. Ener1 shares are still getting shellacked following first-quarter earnings from the Company on Tuesday. Shares are now 42 percent lower over the last three trading sessions.

  • Poniard Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: PARD) low of $0.255. Though Poniard narrowed its first-quarter loss from $0.29 to $0.06 per share, the company also said that it will "require substantial additional capital to support its continuing operations and is seeking to address its liquidity needs by exploring strategic alternatives, including a merger with or acquisition by another company, the sale or licensing of its assets, a partnership, and/or recapitalization." Shares down 25 percent on the session.
