Schneider Electric Looks To Private Equity Firm To Help With Tyco (TYC) Bid

May 13, 2011 6:59 AM EDT
Schneider Electric is looking to partner with private-equity firms to launch a bid for Tyco International (NYSE: TYC), the New York Post reported.

Another possibility is that a private-equity consortium will form and make their own bid for Tyco.

Rumors surrounding a possible Schneider/Tyco deal have been in the market since April. However on April 13, Schneider said it was not in takeover talks with Tyco.

Shares of Tyco last traded at $50.20 in pre-open action, up from yesterday's close of $49.50.
