Yamana Gold (NYSE: AUY) has approved an increase in the annual dividend to $0.18 per share or $0.045 per share per quarter beginning in the third quarter of 2011. This represents a 50 percent increase over the prior annual dividend of $0.12 per share, or $0.03 per share per quarter.
Effective in the third quarter of 2011, shareholders of record on the established record date that will be determined on formal declaration of the dividend will receive $0.045 per share rather than the $0.03 per share that they would otherwise have been entitled to.
