FreightCar America Inc. (NASDAQ: RAIL) reported Q1 EPS of ($0.11), $0.09 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.20). Revenue for the quarter came in at $72.2 million versus the consensus estimate of $54.24 million.
The Company delivered 875 railcars to customers in the first quarter of 2011, of which 858 were new railcars. There were 4,027 units ordered in the first quarter of 2011 and total manufacturing backlog was 5,206 units at March 31, 2011.
