WellPoint Inc. (NYSE: WLP) reported Q1 EPS of $2.35, $0.48 better than the analyst estimate of $1.87. Revenue for the quarter came in at $14.65 billion versus the consensus estimate of $14.57 billion.
Sees FY11 EPS of at least $6.70, versus the consensus of $6.62.
Medical enrollment totaled nearly 34.2 million members at March 31, 2011, an increase of 363,000 members, or 1.1 percent, from 33.8 million at March 31, 2010.
