Janney Montgomery Scott upgraded Hot Topic (NASDAQ: HOTT) from Neutral to Buy. PT $7.
JMS analyst says, "We are upgrading shares of HOTT to BUY based on our belief that:(1) the company is about to embark upon a series of structural shifts that will likely yield long-term positive results, (2) margins and earnings should stabilize due to the benefit from the recently announced cost reduction program and potential future announcements, (3) the company could progress towards positive comps over the next 12 months, and (4) valuation provides downside protection with compelling risk/reward at current levels. Despite the upcoming conference call, we believe potential actions that may be outlined on the call are largely already known."
