Majestic Capital (Nasdaq: MAJC) 72.7% LOWER; Majestic and its units will seek bankruptcy protection. A unit of Majestic will sell Amtrust (Nasdaq: AFSI) renewal rights.
Curis, Inc. (Nasdaq: CRIS) 18.5% HIGHER; reports data from a GDC-0449 Phase II clinical trial. The trial was conducted by Roche (OTCBB: RHHBY) and Genentech. A preliminary safety assessment showed the most common adverse events were consistent with previous experience with vismodegib. A detailed safety assessment is ongoing. Roche has indicated that it anticipates making at least one regulatory submission in 2011 to seek approval to commercialize GDC-0449.
optionsXpress Holdings, Inc., (Nasdaq: OXPS) 15.1% HIGHER; The Charles Schwab Corp. (Nasdaq: SCHW) announces that they have entered an agreement to acquire optionsXpress for $17.91 per OXPS share, or $1 billion total.
TGC Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: TGE) 14.6% HIGHER; Dawson Geophysical Company (Nasdaq: DWSN) and TGC have entered into a definitive agreement of a stock-for-stock merger. The transaction is valued at $8.00 per TGC share, or $157 million total.
Sprint (NYSE: S) 14.5% LOWER; traders are selling the stock amid the deal between AT&T and T-Mobile.
iBio (Nasdaq: IBIO) 13.3% LOWER; continues its extremely volatile run over the last several weeks. Traders are taking profits today following a 24% run-up since March 8.
Globalstar, Inc. (Nasdaq: GSAT) 12.4% HIGHER; has received authority from the FCC to operate its second-generation satellites within the United States.
Leap Wireless (Nasdaq: LEAP) 11.3% HIGHER; trading higher amid the AT&T, T-Mobile deal from this weekend. Citi upgraded shares of LEAP this morning.
XenoPort, Inc. (Nasdaq: XNPT) 11% LOWER; reports preliminary top-line results from a Phase 2b clinical trial of arbaclofen placarbil (also known as AP) as adjunctive therapy in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) who do not experience complete relief of GERD symptoms while being treated with proton pump inhibitors (PPI).
FormFactor (Nasdaq: FORM) 10% HIGHER; added to Citi's "Top Picks Live" list earlier.
Verigy Ltd. (Nasdaq: VRGY) 9.8% HIGHER; reports the their Board determined that Advantest Corp.'s (NYSE: ATE) $15 per share offer is superior to LTX-Credence Corp.'s (Nasdaq: LTXC) offer.
General Maritime (NYSE: GMR) 8.7% LOWER; correcting once again today following a 27% rise on Friday. The stock fell 27% on Thursday following news of a delay to the filing of its 10-K.
