Barclays maintains an 'Overweight' on Kraft Foods (NYSE: KFT), PT $35.
Barclays analyst says, "Though KFT has made solid progress on margins of late, we believe the key to KFT shares working over the longer-term is reaching its 5+% sales growth algorithm, which has proven more elusive. Specifically, investors frequently question KFT's +3-4% target in North America, which has lagged despite various attempts to reaccelerate growth."
"Some of these initiatives have included resource allocation exercises (focusing on 5 core categories), which while initially promising, led to further decay of market shares. But with a new head of North America now at the helm, a new brand segmentation strategy focused on 20 "Power Brands" accounting for 67% of sales in place, and cost synergies to reinvest, perhaps there is reason to hope for a different set of results."
