- iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures ETN (NYSE: VXX) up 4.76% to $49.49. The CBOE near-term VIX is up nearly 10% today as concerns over European debt overshadowed some mixed economic data today.
- PowerShares DB US Dollar Index Bullish (NYSE: UUP) up 0.48% to $22.90. Questions surrounding the outcomes of eurozone meetings a pressuring the euro today. Mystery has surrounded whether or not Ireland will be looking for bailout money, as several top financial officials have vehemently denied it, but EU officials have hinted that funding would be available when needed.
- Retail HOLDRs (NYSE: RTH) up 0.02% to $100.26. Slightly higher, being held up today by Home Depot (NYSE: HD), Lowe's (NYSE: LOW), and Wal-Mart (NYSE: WMT), who all beat their respective consensus third quarter views.

- SPDR S&P 500 (NYSE: SPY) down 1.58% and PowerShares QQQ (Nasdaq: QQQQ) down 1.6% as a combination of Euro debt worries and Asian inflation are adding pressure to markets today. South Korea raised interest rates yesterday, and fears that China could take the same move to curb inflation linger.
- United States Oil (NYSE: USO) down 2.66% to $35.53. The stronger U.S. dollar is weighing on dollar-denominated oil contracts.
- SPDR Gold Shares (NYSE: GLD) down 1.83% to $130.00. The U.S. dollar is pressuring gold as investors are moving out of the metal as a currency hedge today on mixed economic data and renewed enthusiasm for the dollar. Basically, everyone's hanging on the see how the situation in Europe will unfold later today.
